During The Game Awards 2016, Hideo Kojima brought a new trailer for the upcoming game; Death Stranding, another look at what the game will be like since its E3 2016 premiere. You can watch the video below, but don’t expect it to clear anything up about the game, which for now, I can say it is more of mystery.
In the video, Film director Guillermo Del Toro, who worked with Kojima on the canceled game Silent Hills, is seen holding a strange device. Inside is a baby, which we assume is the same infant seen in the initial Death Stranding teaser. Also in the trailer is Mads Mikkelsen, the star of Hannibal. Mikkelsen and Norman Reedus (of the Walking Dead) will feature in this game.
After the trailer, host Geoff Keighley, said the footage comes from a PlayStation 4 Pro. Kojima will be available at this weekend’s PlayStation Experience show to talk more about Death Stranding. He also tweeted these posters after the trailer premiere.

The game was officially announced at Sony’s E3 2016 conference in June. Although the mysterious and intriguing-looking Death Stranding currently has no set release date, we assume it could come out in 2018. During the event Hideo Kojima described the game’s genre as a sort of action game, but with new and different elements, he also said the game’s online component will be a “different kind of online play than anything we’ve seen before.”
Death Stranding is an upcoming open world, action video game developed by Kojima Productions exclusively for the PlayStation 4. This is the first game directed by Hideo Kojima and his company after his contract with Konami was terminated. The game will star American actor Norman Reedus and will have a female protagonist. Norman is an American actor best known for his role as Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead television horror drama series. According to Kojima, “This game will show a different side of Norman Reedus than fans of The Walking Dead might expect”.
Hideo Kojima is a Japanese video game designer, screenwriter, director, and producer. He was a former vice president of Konami Digital Entertainment, and now the director of Kojima Productions, which he originally founded in 2005. Hideo Kojima is the creator, director and writer of a number of widely praised video games, such of which includes; the Metal Gear series of stealth games, and the adventure games Snatcher and Policenauts, and he also directed or produced games in other series like Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.
